Gold Star Veterans : Archive of American Service Members Missing in Action
Missing in Action (MIA) is a casualty classification assigned to Armed Services Personnel and other combatants who are reported missing during wartime. They are lost in the rubble of war with neither remains nor grave positively identified.
Some statistics for American Armed Forces Service Members who have been classified as MIA. This includes POWs who have not been identified or recovered. These are approximate numbers.
