Additional Details
Francis J "Frank" Abbadessa was born in 1913 in the United States to parents who had emigrated from Italy. In 1940, their family lived in Queens, Queens County, New York. Frank was living in New Jersey when he entered the service.
On December 11, 1943 he was on crew of the B-17F-90-BO #42-30182 "Blondie II" during a mission to bomb the industrial area of Emden in Germany. They were forced to ditch in the North Sea near Dantumadeel, the Netherlands with no survivors. All men were declared missing in action.
We identified 10 casualties in our archive related to the #42-30182 incident on December 11, 1943.
