Additional Details
Grant Clark Cook Jr was born and raised in the area of Cozad, Nebraska. He was the son of Grant Clark Sr and Hazel Marie Chapin.
He had run track and played football at Cozad High School, graduating in 1939. Later on he quit his job at a local garage to pursue his dream of serving in the US Navy. He worked in the boiler room and died during the first minutes of the attack on the USS Oklahoma.
On August 27, 2018 the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) announced that his remains had been identified and accounted for. |
