Additional Details
On March 5, 1944 he was on the crew of the Douglas A-20G Havoc #42-54102 when they took off from Lae Airdrome in, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea during a bombing mission over Yalau Plantation. They were not heard from or seen again after takeoff. They are believed to have crashed due to the weather. There were extreme thunderstorms in the area which caused some of the other aircraft to turn back. All three men onboard were officially declared dead on January 27, 1946.
