Specialist, Fourth Class John Harvey Hoeffs was born in Casa Grande, Pinal County, Arizona. He was later living in Oceanside, California.
In Vietnam he was a rifleman with Company A, 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division. On November 28, 1966, he was swimming with friends about 10 miles north of Tuy Hoa, Phy Ten Province South Vietnam when a large wave swept him out to sea. His remains were not recovered. |
