Additional Details
First Lieutenant Krogman was a member of the 504th Tactical Air Support Group. He was a 1964 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy.
On January 17, 1967, he was the pilot of a Cessna Bird Dog Observation Aircraft (O-1G) #57-2789 on a mission at a point west of the Demilitarized Zone in the extreme northern portion of Savannakhet Province, Laos, where he was shot down by hostile fire. His remains were not recovered and he was declared Missing in Action for many years.
On February 14, 2019, a Scientific Recovery Expert working at the crash site in Ban Kok Mak, Laos reported the recovery of possible remains and material evidence. On July 7, 2020 the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) announced that he was finally identified and accounted. |
