Pfc William A Herron graduated from Keokuk high school in 1942 where he was in the band and orchestra and was a member of the Music Honor Society. He enlisted in the US Army at Camp Dodge Herrold, Iowa on February 8, 1943. He died near Wesel, Germany during Operation Varsity.
