Additional Details
Captain Weston was a member of 314th Air Division, Osan Airbase, Korea. He had served his country during the Korean War and the cease fire period after.
On March 23, 1961, he was the Co-Pilot of the Skytrain Transport Aircraft #C47-76330 on a flight from Vientiane to Saigon. Enroute they turned north towards Xieng Khouangville, Laos to gather intelligence. Pathet Lao anti-aircraft shot the aircraft down.
Six crew and two passengers were on board and only one survived. The others were declared Missing, remains unrecoverable. The seven men lost were the first of many hundreds of American personnel shot from the sky only to disappear in the jungles of Laos. It was later reported that the missing men were recovered from the crash site by Laotians and buried nearby.
We identified 7 casualties in our archive related to the #C47-76330 incident on March 23, 1961.
