Additional Details
Lieutenant Richard David Brenning was born in Billings, Yellowstone County, Montana. He was later living in Lincoln, Lancaster county, Nebraska. He was the son of Abraham and Leona Brenning.
In Vietnam he was a member of Attack Squadron 112, Carrier Air Wing 16 aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS TICONDEROGA (CVA-14). On July 26, 1969, he was the pilot of a Douglas Attack Aircraft Skyhawk (A-4C) and was killed in an aircraft accident upon commencement of a combat flight when his plane impacted the Gulf of Tonkin 60 miles offshore from Ha Tinh Province, North Vietnam. His remains were not recovered. |
