Additional Details
Colonel MacLean graduated in 1930 from the US Military Academy at West Point, Orange county, New York. He was originally from Delaware and had been living in Detroit.
He was a decorated veteran of World War II. In Korea he commanded the 31st Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. MacLean took command of all units on the East coast of the Chosin Reservoir.
He was listed as Missing in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on November 29, 1950. He was presumed dead on March 17, 1954. His remains have not yet been recovered. |
