Additional Details
Elton H Nightingale was originally from Macon County, Alabama. He was living in New York City when he entered the service. He trained as a fighter pilot as a member of the Tuskegee Airmen.
On November 11, 1944 he was piloting his P-51B Mustang #43-24872 "Chief" during a bomber escort mission to attack oil refineries at Brux, Czechoslovakia. He went missing over Italy. His remains were not recovered. |
