Lieutenant Commander Pawlish, U.S. Naval Reserve, was a member of Heavy Attack Squadron 4, Carrier Air Wing 11 aboard the aircraft carrier USS KITTY HAWK (CVA-63).
On March 8, 1967, he was the co-pilot of a Douglas Attack Aircraft Skywarrior (A-3B) on a strike mission into North Vietnam when the crew was notified to delay time over target ten minutes. Contact was the lost when the aircraft was 15 miles off the coast of North Vietnam east of the city of Ron. His remains were not recovered. |
